We welcome pitches from writers with a distinct, useful angle on planning weddings and celebrations. Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option so we can review them in the right context.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the central question, who would benefit, and what the reader will be able to consider or do differently. A strong idea is specific without depending on private access, unsupported claims, or a product purchase. We welcome resourceful approaches, considered hosting ideas, and perspectives that make room for different traditions and circumstances.
What to include
Describe the proposed article in a short paragraph, explain why the subject suits Shape the Day, and mention any relevant experience or sources you expect to draw on. Please flag potential conflicts of interest and whether the idea has been published or pitched elsewhere.
Before sending
Please send a proposal rather than a completed article unless we have agreed otherwise. Do not include confidential details about other people or private events. We cannot promise publication or a particular response time; use the Contact page to submit your proposal.
